Bandai Namco's announcement confirms Blue Protocol's Japanese service will end January 18, 2025. Consequently, the global release, partnered with Amazon Games, is canceled. Bandai cites an inability to meet player expectations as the reason for closure.

In an official statement, Bandai expressed regret over the cancellation, stating they couldn't deliver a satisfactory service. The company also acknowledged their disappointment in halting global development with Amazon Games.

Until the game's closure, Bandai will continue to provide updates and new content. Rose Orb purchases and refunds will cease, but players will receive 5,000 Rose Orbs monthly (starting September 2024) and 250 daily. Season passes, starting with Season 9, will be free, and Chapter 7 is slated for release December 18, 2024.

Launched in Japan in June 2023, Blue Protocol initially saw significant success, exceeding 200,000 concurrent players. However, early server issues and subsequent emergency maintenance negatively impacted the game. Player numbers dwindled, and dissatisfaction grew.

Despite a strong initial launch, Blue Protocol failed to retain players and meet Bandai Namco's financial projections. The game's underperformance, previously noted in their March 31, 2024 financial report, ultimately led to the service termination decision.
