If you were around in the mid-2010s, you likely remember the quirky survival horror game *Bendy and the Ink Machine* that took the world by storm. Its episodic setup, rubber hose-style enemies and environments, and intriguing storyline made it incredibly popular. Now, fans are in for a treat as the franchise is set to return with *Bendy: Lone Wolf*, and it's coming to mobile!
*Bendy: Lone Wolf* was unveiled with an exciting reveal trailer (linked below) showcasing plenty of gameplay in a top-down, isometric style. In the game, you'll seemingly take on the role of Boris the Wolf, one of the many cartoon characters brought to life by the titular Ink Machine, as he navigates the dangers of Joey Drew Studios.
The original *Bendy and the Ink Machine* is already available on mobile, along with the spin-off *Nightmare Run* and *Boris and the Dark Survival*, from which *Lone Wolf* appears to draw many elements. While it's not yet clear whether *Lone Wolf* is a definitive version of *Dark Survival* or a completely new take, one thing is certain: the Bendy franchise has maintained its popularity since its initial release. It's widely recognized as part of the first major wave of mascot horror games, alongside the iconic *Five Nights at Freddy's*.
The success of *Bendy: Lone Wolf* will likely hinge on its execution. Given that this isn't the first time the Bendy series has ventured into isometric survival horror starring Boris the Wolf, and considering its upcoming release on Steam and Switch in addition to iOS and Android in 2025, it's safe to assume that the developers will leverage lessons from the first mobile release to create an even more thrilling experience.
