Weaknesses, Resistances, and Immunities:

The Quematrice, a large chicken-like monster reminiscent of a Cockatrice, primarily attacks with fire. While most weapons are effective against this mid-sized foe, its area-of-effect attacks may favor ranged weapons for less experienced hunters. Its key weakness is water. It has no notable resistances and is immune to Sonic Bombs.

Dangerous Attacks to Watch Out For:

While its tail swipes and strikes can inflict damage, the most powerful attack is its tail slam. This involves a dramatic upward swing followed by a powerful downward slam. Sidestepping or blocking this attack is crucial. However, its fire attacks are the most dangerous. These not only deal significant damage but also inflict a burning status effect, steadily draining your health and potentially igniting the ground.

These fiery attacks are somewhat unpredictable. One attack sees Quematrice rearing its head, roaring, and then flinging flames from its tail. Another involves a full 360-degree fiery sweep after a head and tail raise. It can also incorporate this sweep into a charging attack, running towards you before turning at the last second to unleash a fiery blast. For ranged hunters, retreating is the best way to avoid this attack.

Capturing the Quematrice:

To capture the Quematrice, you'll need the right tools: a Shock Trap, a Pitfall Trap, and at least two Tranq Bombs. While one trap suffices, carrying a backup is strongly recommended. Once the Quematrice is significantly weakened (indicated by limping or a fading skull icon on the mini-map), strategically place a trap.
