Bandai Namco's highly anticipated Dragon Ball MOBA, Dragon Ball Project: Multi, has a confirmed 2025 release window following a successful beta test. Learn more about this exciting announcement below.
The developers of Dragon Ball Project: Multi, a 4v4 team-based MOBA based on the popular Dragon Ball franchise, have announced a 2025 release via their official Twitter (X) account. While a precise date remains unannounced, the game, published by Bandai Namco, is slated for release on Steam and mobile platforms. The recent regional beta test concluded, with developers expressing gratitude for player feedback. This valuable input will be used to refine the game experience.
Developed by Ganbarion (known for their One Piece game adaptations), Dragon Ball Project: Multi features iconic characters like Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, and Frieza. Character strength increases throughout matches, allowing for powerful late-game plays against both players and bosses. Extensive customization options, including skins, entrance animations, and finishing moves, are also promised.
The MOBA genre is a new direction for the Dragon Ball franchise, which is typically associated with fighting games (such as the upcoming DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO from Spike Chunsoft). Early player feedback on the beta has been mixed.
While some praise the "decent fun" and simple gameplay (compared to titles like Pokemon Unite), others express concerns about the in-game economy. One Reddit user criticized the "grindy" nature of unlocking heroes, tied to a "store level" requiring in-app purchases. However, other players expressed overall positive opinions. The developers will likely use this feedback to fine-tune the game before its 2025 launch.
