Amidst the buzz surrounding Reburn—a new studio formed by former members of 4A Games Ukraine, the creators behind the iconic Metro series—4A Games has stepped forward to reassure fans of their unwavering commitment to expanding the franchise. This clarification came in the wake of Reburn's announcement of their debut project, La Quimera, which sparked questions about the future direction of the Metro series.

In an official statement, 4A Games addressed any confusion regarding their relationship with Reburn, extending congratulations on La Quimera while firmly affirming their dedication to the Metro series.
"We remain the team responsible for bringing you the beloved Metro games," the statement declared. "Our efforts toward the next Metro installment continue in partnership with Dmitry Glukhovsky, guided by the same visionaries and talent that have shaped the series since its inception."
Beyond the eagerly anticipated Metro sequel, the studio hinted at progress on a brand-new intellectual property (IP), though details remain under wraps. They expressed pride in their Ukrainian heritage and the multicultural team, noting that most of their staff—approximately 150 out of over 200 members—are still based in Kyiv, with additional operations in Sliema, Malta, and remote setups.
Regarding the organizational split, 4A Games provided clarity:
"Following the completion of Metro Exodus and its DLC, we collaborated closely with our partners at 4A Games Ukraine through outsourcing. Post-Exodus, we founded 4A Games Limited in Kyiv, absorbing roughly 50 more colleagues to sustain our momentum. Simultaneously, 4A Games Ukraine embarked on their standalone journey with La Quimera, eventually rebranding as Reburn."
Since the release of Metro Exodus in early 2019, fan interest in the series has only grown, despite the sparse updates. While spin-offs and enhancements like the Enhanced Edition have kept the community engaged, many are eagerly awaiting the next chapter in Dmitry Glukhovsky’s dystopian world. Backed by Embracer Group (previously THQ Nordic), the studio initially teased a new Metro title in 2019, committing to a vague "202X" timeline before going quiet. Now, it seems, the wait may soon come to an end.
