Dans une déclaration conjointe partagée sur X / Twitter, Kenichiro Yoshida, président-directeur général de Sony, et Hiroki Totoki, président et chef de l'exploitation, ont souligné l'importance de Los Angeles en tant que domicile des opérations de divertissement de Sony pendant plus de 35 ans. Ils ont promis une collaboration continue avec les dirigeants locaux pour identifier les façons les plus efficaces que Sony Group puisse contribuer aux efforts de secours et de rétablissement.
La crise, qui a commencé le 7 janvier, persiste, avec trois incendies de forêt majeurs continuant à provoquer une destruction généralisée dans la région de Los Angeles une semaine plus tard. La BBC rapporte au moins 24 décès et 23 individus restent portés disparus dans les deux plus grandes zones touchées. La contribution de Sony fait partie d'une réponse plus large de l'entreprise à la crise.
