Free Planet , écrite par Aubrey Sitterson ( personne n'est parti pour se battre ) et illustré par Jed Dougherty ( Savage Hearts ), se vante des couvertures de Dougherty et Fico Ossio. Image Comics décrit la série comme suit:
La première planète complètement libre de l'histoire humaine a gagné son indépendance. Maintenant, un groupe de héros révolutionnaires doit défendre la source d'énergie unique de la planète à partir de pouvoirs intergalactiques hostiles tout en s'attaquant au véritable sens de la liberté. Sitterson et Dougherty mélangent l'histoire future complexe de l'est de l'Ouest avec les styles émotionnels de l'opéra de Saga dans une histoire sur la liberté et son coût.
"Free Planet représente l'avenir des bandes dessinées", partage Sitterson avec IGN. "Jed et moi visions à élever le médium avec une bande dessinée véritablement littéraire, visuellement riche et complexe.
