Chess, a classic two-player strategy game, unfolds on an 8x8 checkered board. Millions worldwide enjoy this beloved pastime, whether at home, in parks, at clubs, online, through correspondence, or in tournaments.

Each player starts with 16 pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. Each piece type has unique movement capabilities. The goal is to checkmate your opponent's king—placing it in a position where capture is unavoidable. A player can also win by their opponent's resignation, often due to significant material loss or an imminent checkmate.
