Dominoes is a timeless board game using rectangular tiles. This app boasts:

A standard domino set contains 28 tiles, but some games (like Mexican Train, Chicken Foot) use larger sets (double-9 or double-12). Different regions have their own favorite variations: England (Muggins), Scandinavia (Bergen), Mexico (Mexican Train), and Spain (Matador). The game's origins trace back to Song Dynasty China, with its arrival in Italy during the 18th century.

Domino Gameplay Basics:

Blocking Games:

Two-player games typically use a double-six set. Players draw seven tiles each, keeping them hidden from their opponent. One player starts by placing a tile. Players take turns adding tiles to match the open ends, creating a chain. The game ends when a player uses all their tiles or the game is blocked. The blocker usually receives the remaining points. Starting tiles vary by game; Muggins begins with the highest double, Bergen with 0-0, and Mexican Train with the next lowest double.

Scoring Games:

Points are awarded for various actions, often in Draw game variations. In Muggins, open ends must total multiples of five. In Bergen, points are scored when open ends match. Failure to call "domino" before placing a tile can result in penalties in some games. In Mexican Train, the double-zero is worth 50 points.

Draw Games:

Players can draw additional tiles from the stock before playing. The score is the sum of the losing player's remaining tiles and the stock. Usually, two tiles must remain in the stock.
