Este año marcó la novena TennoCon y es seguro decir que el tiempo no ha hecho nada para frenar este espectáculo. Ha sido un fin de semana increíble, marcado por algunas revelaciones alucinantes. Warframe: 1999 se acerca a nosotros y promete ser una de las actualizaciones más sorprendentes de la serie.
Antes de llegar al evento principal, se lanzará una misión prólogo en agosto de 2024 para prepararnos. The Lotus Eaters nos reúne con uno de los personajes más icónicos de Warframe y sigue a Whispers in the Walls, presentando el mundo de 1999. Esta actualización también presentará a Sevatgoth Prime y sus armas exclusivas. Es necesario completar toda la historia hasta Lotus Eaters inclusive para jugar 1999, así que prepárate antes de la fecha de lanzamiento del invierno de 2024.
Como era de esperar, 1999 se desarrolla durante el año titular, en una tierra alternativa donde el año 2000 es un virus mortal que podría destruirlo todo. Está ambientado en la ciudad de Höllvania, un país de las maravillas de los 90 corrompido por Techrot, en el que puedes recorrer con los nuevos Atomicyles, que son capaces de realizar saltos de bala, derrapar y usarse como explosivos improvisados. Y encima de estos nobles lugares se encuentran nuestros seis héroes, miembros de Hex.
Cada miembro del equipo usa un Protoframe, un Warframe que muestra el interior humano. Arthur es el líder y luce Excalibur, respaldado por aliados como Aoi, que empuña Mag, y Quincy, que lleva el recién introducido CYTE-09. Esta montura también llegará al sistema Origin con una elegante boina.
El equipo cobra vida gracias a actores tan famosos como Alpha Takahashi, Ben Starr, Melissa Medina y la reciente estrella de Baldurs Gate 3, Amelia Tyler. Y si quieres conocerlos mejor, puedes hacerlo de una forma totalmente 1999; mensajería instantánea. Juega bien tus cartas y quizás tengas a alguien a quien besar en el nuevo año.
Solo para recordar realmente la vibra de 1999, te encontrarás cara a cara con una de las cosas más diabólicas de esa época; una banda de chicos de los 90. On-lyne es una banda de cinco integrantes liderada por Zeke, con la voz del propio Leon Kennedy, Nick Apostolides, que han sido estafados por Technopathy Coda y se han convertido en tu enemigo infectado. Sin embargo, sus canciones son tremendamente pegadizas y ahora puedes escuchar su exitoso sencillo, Party of Your Lifetime, en todas las buenas plataformas de streaming.
Una de las mejores partes de esta actualización, al menos para mí, son las actualizaciones de los sistemas de moda, el verdadero final del juego. Podrás sumergirte en la batalla con dos configuraciones de marcos de moda entre las que puedes alternar, pero aún mejor es la introducción de Gemini Skins. Con él, puedes llevar Protoframes como Arthur y Aoi al sistema Origin.
Obviamente, esto se limita a los marcos que tienen estos aspectos como Excalibur, pero cada uno de ellos tiene páginas de líneas con todas las voces para cuando estés luchando, y te ayudarán si decides sacar a tu operador. Es una forma genial de aprovechar al máximo la estelar lista de actores de doblaje y es bueno tener personajes con caras.
Fuera del titular, también recibimos algunas cositas adicionales. Digital Extremes se asociará con el artista de animación THE LINE para producir un corto de anime relacionado con 1999 que se lanzará este año. Finalmente, a partir de hoy puedes conseguir un impresionante diseño Heirloom de alta fidelidad para Ember, seguido de un diseño de Rhino a principios de 2025.
